I feel like I'm getting deeper and deeper into trouble.

From my other thread I could not get the device icon in iTunes.

Eventually I tried to uninstall iTunes and reinstall.

Now I get a message that says the iTunes Library .itl file was created by a later version of iTunes.

I get that message as soon as I try to start iTunes so I cannot do anything.

Well, I can't open itunes because of the above error.

And when I go to the Microsoft store and search for iTunes I get the following:

Something went wrong

Please try again later

That’s a problem with Windows. Log out of your Windows account on the computer, then log in again.

Don’t go to the Microsoft Store, then. Go directly to Apple and download it from there.
iTunes - Upgrade to Get iTunes Now

Ok. Somehow go it resolved.

I kept going in circles and getting nowhere. So instead of selecting the iTunes app I added it to my cart. I noticed in the area where it checks me out there's a phone number. So I called and it appears to be some Microsoft line. They realized it's some type of support I needed and passed me over there.

The person on the line somehow managed to reset my account (she sent me an email supposedly explaining what she did but I don't have it yet). She then downloaded iTunes and it installed. And miraculously I now have the device icon on my iTunes screen.

Not often that we get a happy ending.

Thanks for the help.
