iPhone + Carplay + Hotspot at the same time?

Hi, I have an iPhone SE, and I’d like to use maps on Carplay, but I also have an old iPhone 5C with no sim that I’d like to run another separate app on at the same time.
Can I connect my SE to Carplay (via cable) and also have a hotspot running on it simultaneously so I can use my iPhone 5C as well ?.

There are several threads on the Apple forum asking the same question with no answers!

Well after 347 views with no replies then I’m assuming no one has tried it.
I’ve been unwell for a few days so haven’t been able to check it out myself, but on checking today I can confirm it works.
I set my iPhone SE up as a hotspot and connected my iPhone 5C to it, then connected my SE to Carplay with a cable and all worked fine.
It means that now I can run Apple Maps, and soon, in ios12, Google Maps or Waze, in Carplay, and run my speed camera detector (CamerAlert) alongside on my 5C. [emoji106]

I use my 8 Plus on car play and as a hotspot for my 4S which I also have connected by cable and use as a music source. Maps works great in this configuration
