iphone 6s notifications/sounds

having selected ringtones for facebook and twitter via setting sounds, they do not work when i get facebook and twitter notifications/posts - please advise

You have to select the Sounds under Sounds in Settings and then enable them in Notifications in Settings

Like said, you need to turn sounds on in notifications. Here is what I speak of.

Notice I have notifications turned on for this app. I also have sound and a badge icon as well. So again, even if you have turned on “notifications”, you need to set them up for your specific wants. Like whether you want it to make a sound, show on display and so on. Hope this helps. And hopefully you will get it resolved. Good day.

i was on version 10 - worked after updating to 11 - am i right in saying that i am unable to alter sounds for facebook and twitter or any app that is not in sounds?

iOS 11.0.2 is the latest software version. Your iPhone is up to date.
