Iphone 3gs Sim activating

Hi,

I have a old Iphone 3gs which I have no intention of using as a phone. I want to use it as a ipod.

Now it has been flashed with 5.0.1 using itunes. It now needs activating but I have no sim card for it.

What can I do it get it through the activating stage?

Buy a pay as you go sim for the network it was on then it's activated

Just to update this.

In the end I used Snowbreeze to get around this without having to buy a sim card just to unlock it.
