iphone 3gs charging not supported

Hi guys.
My partners phone is playing up. It's only drip charging and when nothing is connected it says "charging is not supported with this accsessory" I've tried cleaning the charging dock and cable. Tried numerous plugs and cables, tried connecting it to the Computer. I've replaced both the battery and the charging dock and it still showing the message. Can anyone help??

If you're not using an OEM cable, see if borrowing someone else's OEM cable resolves the issue. Perform a hard reset by holding down both your home and power button until the Apple logo appears and release. Then re-try

Not had chance to get hold of genuine cable to try it with. It Started charging normally again and after 2 days went straight back to charging is not supported.
