The mobile app Intonatio is aneducational application that will help music students and hobbyistsimprove their intonation through lessons, games and audio clips.

Intonatio is already available for iOSdevices and is coming soon to Android, as well.

Intonatio has been specially designedto help music students and hobbyists improve their intonation. Whenplaying most instruments or when singing, musicians must tune eachnote with the aid of their ear, their training and their musicaltalent.

Intonatio takes advantage of the mobileapplication format to provide a series of exercises, games and audioclips that will help musicians awaken and train their ear forintonation. Improving concentration and musical memory, as well ashelping people learn and distinguish various auditory sensations, arethe main objectives of this app.

The lessons and games will help userslearn when one tone is higher than another, when a two-note intervalis in tune or one note is sharp, or if a tone is in tune with a majoror minor chord – all of this in a way that is progressive, fun andintuitive.

In the “Audio” section, themusician can select the desired tuning (A-440, 442 or 445) and choosebetween major or minor chords in various keys to practice tone andtuning exercises (sustained notes, arpeggios, intervals, etc.)accompanied by the audio clips. By hooking the mobile device up to aset of speakers, users can even practice playing as if to theaccompaniment of a piano.

Intonatio is already available foriPhone, iPad and iPod touch at a price of 1.99$ and is coming soon toAndroid, as well.

The application was developed under theeducational supervision of Daniel Portillo (flautist and fluteprofessor at the Teresa Berganza Professional Conservatory of Musicin Madrid).
