Photo-sharing giant Instagram took to its own blog yesterday, announcing it would be rolling out a language translation feature within its mobile app. The feature, already familiar to Facebook users, will simply translate captions and comments on photos and videos to the user's set language.

"In the coming month, you’ll see a translation button on feed stories and profile bios written in languages different from your own. The Instagram community has grown faster and become more global than we ever imagined. And we’re excited that you’ll soon be able to understand the full story of a moment, no matter what language you speak."

Similar to parent company Facebook, captions and comments written in a different language will have a "translate" option users can tap on to do exactly that. The feature will begin rolling out later this month for Android and iOS users, with Instagram noting that translation may not be available on older posts.

Instagram is available for download for free in the iTunes App Store.
