iMessage doesn't work on some contact

Why iMessage doesn't work on some contacts with IOS 5.

It will only work with iPhones running iOS 5. If they aren't running it, then the message will be sent as a standard SMS.

Yes I know but they also have iPhone with IOS 5 and not work.

They also need to have iMessage on and logged in. Had to do it yesterday when my phone was replaced.

iMessage will work only if the other person has activated it, and currently on WiFi.

actually iMessage works on 3g too without a wifi connection.

Hi guys, I'm having a similar problem. My imessage works, and I have a couple of friends who's works with each other, but when I message either of these people it is always sent as sms. They are on the same network as me as well, so I really don't know what could be the issue!

I have problems sending pics too with iMessage so I called Verizon they couldn't fix it so theirs a new phone at home, you guys might wanna contact them..
