iCloud backup & camera roll clean up

I need to give my daughter my 5s prior to buying myself a 6+. I have a lot of nsfw photos in my camera roll. I wanted to know if I backed my phone on cloud can I delete my entire camera roll on the phone before handing it to her

iCloud backs up photos and videos stored on your iPhone. If you use iCloud Photo Library (Beta), they are not included, because they are already saved to iCloud. In any case, you can backup to iCloud, then erase the iPhone without worrying about your pictures.
