How accurate is my iPhone's data usage report?

This is strange:

When I check my iPhone data usage on the phone, it is XXX

When I check on my carrier's site, it is different.

I Reset my statistics at the month's start date, so both should be the same.

My question: is the iPhone data usage stats up to date?

They can easily be 24 to 48 hours out of date. The data use feature is meant a a guide, not as an accurate up to date accounting of your data use.
