Home video clip on iPhone

Hi all. I have some home video clips of my granddaughter from a while ago. I connected my iPhone to iTunes and it told me that I had no app to watch the video clip.
tried it on my iPad no problem but on the iPad there is an app that looks like a tv but can't find that to work on the iPhone.
What app do I need to watch those home video clip Please ??

You could try Apple's own iMovie.

Thanks for your reply. But iTunes won't let me install the movie to my phone, it did on my iPad with no problem.
Good idea with Imovie how do I get it to my phone.

You may not have enough space on your iPhone, but it should not matter if you install iMovie on your iPad. I haven’t put iMovie on my iPhone, but videos taken on my iPhone Camera and others created elsewhere I have AirDropped to iMovie. I hope this helps. Caroline.
