Rejoice everyone, Jet Set Games' critically and commercially successful strategy game has had an iOS 4 makeover, and its price in the Apple iTunes App Store has been slashed to $0.99 from now until July 4th in honour of American Independence Day. The update adds iOS 4 compatibility, as well as several other new features, including the option to skip viewing enemy 3D combat, the option to disable the combat spell display if no spells are currently available, performance enhancements in Map Mode, the ability to restart a mission from the Mission Select screen, updates to several spell effect and combat environment graphics, and the ability to load a checkpoint or restart a mission from within combat. The update also fixes a couple of crash bugs.

Highborn is a casual, turn-based strategy game with a twist, in which players are treated to two strategy games that combine to offer an intelligent, tactical experience without the frenetic play of a traditional RTS. Players move forces around an overhead map to secure spells and combat support, then dive into 3D combat to deploy those advantages against an unsuspecting enemy. The storyline is full of wacky characters and witty dialogue, which keeps it fun. Here's Rade Stojsavljevic, president of Jet Set Games, talking about the update:

This update for Highborn was all about addressing some of the feedback we’ve received from the community. The players have been great about submitting suggestions to improve the game, and we will continue to act on as much of it as we can. The game gets better with every update, and we encourage everyone to give it a try over the holiday weekend, especially now that it’s only $.99.
