Google docs and iphone ... Please help

First off thank you for taking the time to read my thread and any assistance/advice given.

I am trying to get get documents I have saved on my gmail account onto my iPhone. Will google docs allow this so I can be able to edit the docs as well as attach and send to others? Or any other type of app that could make this happen. I know about DocsToGo but I am not sure if that app is exactly what I need; and before I shell out $10-$15 I want to make sure I am getting that feature

Doc's to go is a great program to use and yes i do believe you can edit you doc from your computer to your phone, at least thats what they say about it.
