Glowing tethering bar

Is there anyway to disable the glowing tethering bar when using my iPhone's hot spot? It sucks the life from my battery quickly.

I don't think that there is a way to disable it. But it auto disappear when you open an application on the phone. And if you are talking about MyWi, I think that there is an option in the MyWi setting where you can chose to show it on not on the lock screen.
