Email not downloading

My iPhone 4 is not always downloading my email. I have it set on the "push" setting and sometimes it will refresh and notify every time there is new mail. Sometimes it will go as long as overnight without refreshing. When I notice there is no unread mail for a long period I open mail and it downloads dozens of emails. Anyone having this problem?

Do you have the multiple email accounts and/or also added to more than one device? There are so many things still to learn with these smart phones and I am far from a guru to advise you what the problem is but I will say what I have noticed from personal experience. I have a family of 5 and we all have iPhones from 3G, 3Gs, 4G and 4Gs. My fiancé and I have our businesd email accounts set up on both devices . The push notifications only seem to work on the main email acct we used 1st to set up on our devices. I have to manually go in the other email accts to load emails. Anybody else notice this as well?
