downgrade from 6 to 5.1.1 issues

hi

im trying to downgrade from ios 6 to 5.1.1 but having a few issues. without tiny umbrella i'll get error 3194, then with it i keep getting 1600. neither ireb or redsnow work by putting it into pwnd dfu mode. deleting any trace of apple from the host file doesnt even work either, but surely that defeats the point of tiny umbrella. someone suggested creating a custom ipsw from the official one using snowbreeze, but that just says invalid ipsw for both the 5.1.1 and 5.1.1b

any ideas?

I had the same problem but I fix it this way
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
open hosts file as Notepad and put # sign in every line like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.

# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.

# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:

#	127.0.0.1       localhost
#	::1             localhost

save file and try again to downgrade to 5.1.1

already tried with no trace of apple in my host file, still no luck

maybe but this way I had success to downgrade my Iphone 4s from iOS6 to iOS 5.1.1

There is no way to downgrade an iPhone 4s with or without blobs

managed to fix it in the end. had already stitched the blobs but something must have gone wrong somwehere, restitched and worked fine this time round

That won't work for a device that's already upgraded to iOS 6. It will, however, allow you to restore a jail broken iPhone jailbroken on iOS 5.1.1 and keep it on iOS 5.1.1 once restored. For the iPhone 4s, once you update to iOS 6, there's no going back to iOS 5.1.1.

You should read this thread, it's not possible at this time to go from iOS 6 back to iOS 5.

On the iPhone 4S and 5, that is correct. The iPhone 4 and 3GS can downgrade.

sorry if i hijack.
is there any way i can unlock my iPhone 4s that's on sprint to use with straight talk. i'm currently using Version 6.0 (10A403). FirmWare: 3.0.04. is there any hope. i never had any issues in the past. this is my 3rd iPhone i was able to unlock others and jailbreak. but now I see that there's not much support for this version. any help will be highly appreciated.
