Cannot connect to itunes

Why can't I connect to iTunes? Tried to update a few apps and it brings up a message box that says, "Can't connect to iTunes".

Is it possible that you're not connected to Wifi or cellular data?

I am connected to Wifi. It just won't connect me to iTunes. Thanks.
