i have a bluetooth setup with my auto. how much of a battery drain is it if when i leave my auto i do not turn off my phone setting. i heard that the iphone unlike others is always searching if the setting is not tuned off. it would be a pain to have to constantly be changing the setting.

I haven't experienced any more drain with my iphone then with my droid x.

I would expect a 20-25% reduction in battery life if you leave bluetooth on all day long (as well as use it sporadically).

You can expect the same reduction if you leave GPS and WiFi on. Any extra radio left on is going to cause significant losses in battery life.
