Backup iphone 4 to iphone 5s

Can I use icloud to transfer my iphone 4 contacts to my new iphone 5s? Sounds too easy.

If you are sung the cloud to back up ( with an Apple ID )
All you need to do is restore your new phone from your last backup , simples
Then delete all content, but before that, remove the old iPhone from " find my phone " most important that bit !!!!!!!
As I have had FIVE iPhone 4S machines in two years ( don't ask ) I'm a whizz at this

My moan is that backup doesn't remember your wifi connects, all those wireless hotspots one has " got " over the year, gone

Yes. You need to back up your phone to either iCloud or your computer. Then restore your new phone from that backup.
What tintbob is referring to with deleting content is if you are getting rid of your 4. Make sure "find my iphone" is off before you delete all content.

iCloud does not backup all data on your device. The best way to transfer data would be to perform a backup via iTunes.
