Hello, earlier today I tried backing up my iPhones 4s (iOS 7.0.4 Jailbroke), it got up to stage 2 and then I got a message saying "Unable to back up device because it has disconnected.". So I tried again, but again the same thing happened. I came to the conclusion that it is because the device is jailbroke but then I tried it with my iPad 2 (WiFi iOS 7) and the same thing happened.

Is their anyway to fix this?

Thanks.

  • If you're using a USB hub or using a monitor as your USB port, disconnect it and use the rear chassis of the device.
  • Make sure your AppleID matches that of the device.
  • Use another cable/computer.
  • Restart the computer either by a warm reboot or a cold reboot.
  • If rebooting doesn't work, uninstall the USB drivers, reboot, and retry.

Thanks Willerz, seems like my front usbs aren't working. Shame only got my pc the other day.

When dealing with software modifications on your mobile devices, it's always best to use the rear chassis because it feeds directly into your motherboard. The front ports or ports on a monitor have a higher chance of malfunctioning because it's extended from the rear chassis.
