AUX won't play music iPhone 5s

Gday Gday, just baught my first iPhone (5s) and put music on it, when into my car and plugged in my AUX cord... and no sound Speakers turn off music shows playing on phone (so it is connected?) but no sound. Same thing happens when connected to a dock.

Anyone know how to fix this? Cheers.

This too is happening with me but only with the USB port. It stopped working at the time I upgraded to iOS 7 on my 4s and has not worked since although clearly working on the phone. Car audio system not recognizing please help
