One of the reasons that I'm upgrading to a new 5s is the sluggish feel of iOS 7 on my 4. It is awful? No. But noticeable under normal operation, and sometimes actually freezing for just a couple of seconds before things "catch up." If she can live with that then it does work. I'll be able to make more of a comparison once my 5s arrives, but unfortunately that's supposed to be at least several weeks away.
