Just curious if there is a way that you can tell if a app is using data from your plan, or do most not use data? I'm sure some navigation apps do. But other than running the app and checking your data usage is there a way to tell?

Any that connect to a server will use some data. The spinning wheel next to your 3G icon will spin when you are using data. A good way to tell is go to settings>usage and clear the data counter then go back after you have used it and check what it used.

Great. Thanks for all your help! I never had a iphone so I wasn't sure how you could tell.
Now I just need my phone.
