The Chinese have not stepped yet into the New Year, but when they do, on January the 25th, they are going to do it in big style. Apple has announced its intention of organizing a one day sale in order to celebrate the coming of the new Chinese Year. Therefore, on Friday the 25th, Cupertino is going to organize Red Friday and apply generous discounts on different Apple gear. Why Red? Because the Chinese culture recognizes Red as being associated with good fortune and the New Year.

The official Apple website has already started teasing customers with insights of what’s coming on the 25th. For example, shoppers will be able to get a special dedication engraved on their Apple items without charging. The devices will also be sent back to them free of charge. For the undecided shoppers who still want to purchase a gift for loved ones, Cupertino is going to set up a hotline assisted by gift experts who are going to help customers buy the best New Year’s gift. They are even going to help with the choice of present wrapping, basically taking care of almost everything.

Last year, Red Friday consisted of discounts up to 8% for iPads, 10% on iPod touches or $99 off MacBook laptops. The company also added a two day free discount period, making the deal a very sweet one. The shopping event will include China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
