Apple to launch new MacBooks at WWDC in June.JPG

According to Bloomberg’s sources, Apple is to launch an updated MacBook lineup at its WWDC, which starts on June 5, in response to increased competition from Microsoft and the decline in demand for the iPad.

Bloomberg says that Apple is to launch three new laptops: A Kaby Lake MacBook Pro, a new version of the 12-inch MacBook with a faster Intel processor, and an updated 13-inch MacBook Air, also with an updated processor. The source says that sales of the MacBook Air, Apple’s cheapest laptop, remain very strong.

Bloomberg says that this move from Apple is in response to Microsoft’s strong launch of its new Surface Laptop earlier this month, which was well received by industry experts setting it up well in its bid to be a rival to the MacBook Air.

Bloomberg’s sources say that the new MacBook Pro would look very similar to the current models, with only the internal architecture being updated. The ever-popular MacBook Air is long overdue a speed update, and maybe Apple will even reconsider its unpopular (with some) decision to discontinue the smaller and cheaper 11-inch MacBook Air, which, for many, including students, who Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop is clearly aimed at, was their only chance at being able to afford a MacBook.

Bigger Hard drives and a small price drop would be nice but probably just wishful thinking :)
