German auto maker Volkswagen presented a plethora of vehicles at this year's CES in Las Vegas, Nevada. Apple's CarPlay support was one of the main features the auto giant was showcasing, but it was missing one feature...

The German auto maker received word from Apple prior to CES, preventing the company from showing off wireless CarPlay. “We wanted to demonstrate wireless CarPlay and the owner of CarPlay technology didn’t allow us to,” said Volkmar Tannerberger head of electrical and electronic development at Volkswagen.

Apparently, Volkswagen planned to show off CarPlay's wireless capabilities. Currently an iPhone must be connected to a vehicle via USB to use CarPlay, however wireless CarPlay is in the works.
