Wow!! So many options out there!! A lot depends on where you live and what kind of content you like consuming. If you live in the UK then the BBC News app is worth a look. What is it about Apples offering that you don't like?

    Welcome to iPhone Forums!

When you’re using a browser to access this forum, go to FORUMS at the top, then choose one of the forums.

You’ll find this at the top:

Select it, and this will appear:

    Hope that helps.

Apple news is a good news source. You can choose what news to get as well.

If you do not need an app, try adding bookmarks to your browser. In the UK our Safari browser has BBC news, Telegraph, Guardian, Independent, Mail, Inews, New EU, and then some local, in a folder, for our area. (See screenshot) We also have a folder for half a dozen USA papers. Some of these have subscriptions, but may have an allowance of 20 or so articles per month. We then read through what we want of the papers hopefully getting an overall unbiased view from the press.

Also, depending upon where you are, there is an app called PressReader to which your local library may provide access if you are a member of the library. With PressReader I can download for free, into PressReader, tte daily electronic copies of newspapers from not only the UK, but all over the world.
