New single sign in section appears in App Store.JPG

With the arrival of Single Sign-on via tvOS 10.1 and iOS 10.2 in the US later in December, MacRumors reports that Apple has added a new section to the App Store that features apps that support the new feature so that beta testers can try them out.

The apps are arranged according to supported TV providers, including DirecTV, Dish, Sling TV, Hotwire, and GVTC.

The forthcoming feature is actually very easy to use; say you subscribe to Dish Network, for example. You can simply sign in once using your Dish username and password to use any of the listed apps, including Cooking Channel, Watch DIY, Watch Travel Channel, Hallmark Channel Everywhere, and Watch Food Network.

In the iOS 10.2 beta, when you open an app that supports Single Sign-on, a pop-up notification will ask if you “want to allow XYZ to use your sign in credentials,” beta testers have reported on Reddit.
