According to a recent research note coming from Piper Jaffray, an investment bank and asset management firm, it is believed that Apple has sold 3 million units in the quarter. The information comes from analyst Gene Munster who say that talks with investors have shown general disappointment and concern about the ‘long-term opportunity’ for the Apple Watch.

The analyst believes that supply constraints and lack of availability in Apple retail stores have limited early sales. However, Munster believes that 2017 is going to be the ‘breakout year’ for the device, with a total number of around 40 million units being shipped. As for 2016, he estimates sales of about about 14 million.
