Hey people,

I just got an iPhone 5s and I have never used iOS or any other apple device. I got some basic questions regarding software:

- Is there a good non-proprietary, bloat-free software solution to access my iPhone from my win7 PC? I'm looking for software that has the character of a real tool, like e.g. Total Commander.

- On my PC I use the basic prism break and ad blocking extensions for Firefox: Disconnect me, Adblock edge, https everywhere and self destructing cookies. Is there an equivalent for iPhone?

- To save traffic I'd also like to use a combined mvps + someonewhocares host file. How do I do this on my iphone?

- What should I use for easy mail access (non proprietary software like Thunderbird would be preferred)?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Spock

If your intention is to control your iPhone from your computer, it can't be done, although the reverse is possible.

I meant for putting music, photos etc. on my phone or get them from my phone. Having used an iPod I suspect this isn't possible by just accessing folders (which would be the ideal solution). iTunes is out of the question for me in this regard. I'm looking for a more "techie" solution, hence the example of Total Commander for a real tool.

[edit] I already got Media Monkey for syncing btw, but I would still need a real file browser for my iPhone

[edit2] iFunBox looks like a great piece of software. It might be just what I have been looking for.
