6S network compatibility

Regarding Verizon CDMA and GSM carrier compatability are there still two model numbers? I'm still on Verizon but reluctant to buy a new phone limited to their network. Can I buy an unlocked 6s from the apple store that can do either?

There are two model numbers.
One is A1633 for the iPhone 6s (AT&T, SIM free): iPhone 6s (AT&T/SIM Free/A1633) 16, 64, 128 GB Specs (iPhone 6s, A1633, MKQ62LL/A*, 2946*, iPhone8,1) @ EveryiPhone.com
The other one is A1688 (Global): iPhone 6s (Global/A1688) 16, 64, 128 GB Specs (iPhone 6s, A1688, MKT82LL/A*, 2946*, iPhone8,1) @ EveryiPhone.com

Thanks JA. That does look confusing. It seems the "ATT" version might be the one for general GSM use like Tmobile simple etc. and the international be for non LTE. But one that works on Verizon is still a mystery.

Just remember to check if the phone can work with AT&T Band 30. That is the one being developed for the best speeds and it is just starting roll-out. Only A1633& A1634 will have that antenna.
