3gs,no service/searching! help.

help, due to no forth coming advice on my original request i followed a youtube fix for my phone. version 5.1.1 and modem 6.15.00 that was constantly no service.
it suggested that the modem of 6.15.00 was originally for the ipad and so was poor at gps detection and suggested a downgrade to 05.13.04 would resolve this.
i followed to the letter and all went well but still no reception!
Does anyone out there have and knowledge of a solution to this infuriating problem.

Since you were using the iPad BB... it's safe to assume you require your iPhone to be Unlocked. Did you JB and reinstall ultrasn0w via Cydia for your Unlock?

dont know,bought the phone already unlocked and jailbroken , cydia and ultrasnow were installed so i presume so,hence my frustration. the only thing i had done after purchase was having the version changed to 5.1.1 oh and two new antennaes!
