Cult of Mac reports that the T-Mobile iPhone might be coming as soon as this year. Their sources say that the deal is in advanced stages with Apple and the service provider. This would make it much easier for Apple to set up because T-Mobile runs on GSM, just like AT&T. Unlike Verizon, which relies on a CDMA network. Well, I guess we'll have to wait for more news. But the question is, which side will you choose? Red, Pink, or Blue?

The San Francisco Chronicle's Crime Scene blog features a true cautionary tale for any would-be iPhone thieves out there. According to a police report, a 31 year old city resident rode their bicycle past a woman in the South of Market district, grabbed her iPhone and then cycled off with it. All well and good as far as the would-be thief was concerned, except for the fact that the particular iPhone he snatched was involved in a demonstration of a real-time GPS tracking program called Alert & Respond! As the crim made off with the phone, the screen was displaying his location as he travelled around San Francisco to the owner of the phone who was running the test, David Kahn, chief executive of Covia Labs of Mountain View.
Inevitably, the villain was apprehended by police about 10 minutes later. He'd managed to get half-a-mile away from the crime scene, unaware that his location was being broadcast every step of the way. The criminal was subsequently booked into jail on suspicion of grand theft and possession of stolen property.

Okay, so this developer, Nick Lee, decided to hide a tethering feature into his flashlight app. How this got past Apple, I don't know, but it's not going to be here long. The app is called Handy Light, it is $.99, but that beats the Tethering Plan that most service carriers offer. The developer posted a full video on how to enable it and it really is pretty sneaky. I guess Apple didn't notice the extra code. Grab it while you can, or don't, and miss out just like some did on iChatr before it was taken down.
Tutorial Link(video was taken down or something so here is AppShoppers Guide)
Handy Light Is Now Removed From The App Store, Those Who Got It, Got It =]

Yet another quick tip comes from the almighty Phil Synowiec. This time I'm going to teach you how to talk to your phone and it will spell out what you are saying. This is great for driving a texting(be safe). You can simply talk into the phone, then copy the text into a text message, and click send. It's that easy. Dragon Dictation is FREE on the app store and you can complain about the price!

If you're the sort of person who both enjoys Tweeting via Twitter and organising yourself with Google Calendar, then you should take a look at Infoteria's TwitCal iPhone app, which can be used to tweet and follow events through Twitter, as well as making it easy for you to integrate your Google Calendar, combining social and private events into one easy-to-manage calendar. TwitCal's mash-up, single-interface calendar lets users view events booked by other TwitCal users, events imported via Twitter, Google Calendar and events updated by a followed calendar, as well as their own events.
TwitCal's five main features are "Tweet Event", where users can tweet any event they'd like to share, "Smart Sync with Google Calendar" which is pretty self-explanatory, "Follow Calendar", where users can follow other TwitCal users' calendars, upon user approval of course, "Share with Friend" and "Multiple View".
TwitCal is available now in the Apple iTunes App Store for $2.99/£1.79.

A quick video showing the new service bars on iOS 4.0.1. They got a little bit bigger and gained some weight. As you can say, they are a lot more accurate now. They show the true amount of service you have on your phone unlike iOS 4.0. Not really a need to update.

Apple posts record $3.25b profit in first full quarter of iPad sales, says more 'amazing products' coming this year.

Apple just posted up its third quarter earnings -- its first full quarter selling the iPad -- and, well, it's raining cash in Cupertino. The company posted a record profit of $3.35b on record revenues of $15.7b, which is up from $1.83b and $9.73b from a year ago. The big stat? Apple sold 3.27 million iPads, nearly matching the 3.47 million Macs sold -- and Mac sales were up 33 percent from a year ago to set a new quarterly record. IPhone sales -- including the first few weeks of the iPhone 4 -- were up 61 percent from a year ago to 8.4 million, and the iPod continued its slow decline, down eight percent to 9.41 million units sold. Over half of the Apple's sales -- 52 percent -- were international.

PC World has grabbed some PR gurus and canvassed them for their opinion on "antennagate", with the overall results being reasonably positive in Apple's favour. "I think after a real slow start, they've done very well," crisis management specialist Jonathan Bernstein told PC World, adding that although Steve Jobs initally came over as a little uncaring, in his opinion, in the end Apple manage to limit potential damage to its image by finally being frank about the problem and providing a solution. Bernstein also told PC World that it helps that Apple already has such a positive public persona: " The best defense against it is to have a strong cushion of good will already established. Apple has that." However, Bernstein was less impressed with the way in which Apple tried to involve other phone makers, actually naming names in the process. "Pointing fingers at other people is never a first line of defence unless other people have deliberately and directly harmed you."
PC World also spoke to Jim Lukaszewski, another crisis communications and PR expert, who was of the same opinion as Steve Jobs, i.e. that the whole antenna incident had actually been blown out of proportion. "This company is really a model in handling these kinds of problems, because they do what they're supposed to do as soon as they're capable of doing it," commented Lukaszewski.
Bernstein's final point is actually a very good one. He said that people have such high expectations of Apple products, that when something does go array, people are more shocked because it's so unexpected.

Pocket Gamer reports that Disney has just released a free Tron game for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad in the US iTunes App Store. The free app is part of the promotional campaign for the forthcoming Tron: Legacy movie and console game, both of which will be out this December.
According to Pocket Gamer, the binary code featured in the iTunes "Description" section for the app actually says "This TRON app will evolve. ComiTRON coming 072210", which Pocket Gamer takes to mean that the app will receive a content update presumably during Comic Con in San Diego, on July 22nd. Currently the game only features tank shooting gameplay and some multiplayer features, but previous reports on the game have mentioned lightcycle gameplay, so maybe this will be included in tomorrow's update. Disney is apparently planning to continue updating the app right until the film's release, with both free and premium in-app purchase DLC.
