I would go for the laptop just for reason that it can do more for you towards your school work. The iPad is nice and lightweight but it won't replace your pc no time soon. Unless you don't mind the iPad. It's totally up to you

I have the MacBook Air. It does plenty and more for my school work. I would definitely recommend it over an iPad for your needs.

The Air is very portable, powerful, and has a killer battery. I wouldn't trade it for any other hardware when it comes to my college needs.- Share
