Just joined. Started early with computers with the Osborne 1. Just got an iphone4. An amazing device. Two questions today:

1. How do you turn off songs running on the iPod?. I downloaded some Dylan and it kept playing until I turned off the phone.

2. How do you turn off some tasks or apps so they don't run in the background? I looked for an app to do this, but couldn't find one

On any apple device you dont really turn off or stop a song. There is only pause. Also to view/edit your apps that are currently running in the background just double tap your home button to view them. And just like you delete apps normally, press and hold any background running app to make the icons wiggle then delete it out of the background running section
