Temple Run 2 Downloaded 20 Million Times Over the Weekend!

Imangi Studios announced today that Temple Run 2, which was only released four days ago, has already notched up over 6 million downloads, with 6 million of those being on launch day. Unsurprisingly with stats like that, the sequel soared to the top of the Free App charts eight hours after it first appeared in the App Store, and is now currently the #3 Top Grossing App, thanks to in-app purchases. The original endless runner has been downloaded more than 170 million times, and it looks like the follow-up could be well on the way to equaling, and most likely beating, that total.

“The response from fans has been overwhelming,” says Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi. “We are thrilled players want more of the Temple Run universe, and we hope to grow and expand the game over the coming months.”

It’s interesting to note that Imangi Studios is a small indie studio that was created by husband and wife team Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova as a way of achieving their dream of creating small fun games for all to enjoy. Amazing!
