SPOT Connect provides extra safety via satellite

We all have heard stories of people going on hiking trips, ending up stranded in the middle of nowhere without the ability to call for help. For nature lovers who want to feel safer while adventuring, a new service and device comes to the rescue. SPOT Connect is the technology that will add a bonus extra layer of communication when you need your iOS device to work the most.

The device works via a satellite. The signal from it is directed towards a list of your choosing – friends and family and other emergency rescuing facilities - alerting them of your location via a message.

In case of emergency the user just needs to run the native app on their iPhone thus transforming it into a real-time satellite broadcaster with a GPS receiver add-on. The SPOT Connect will work thanks to the embedded Bluetooth and is similar to SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger and SPOT Personal Tracker.

This device can even update your status on Twitter and Facebook. The device can work independently from the iPhone as well, so if your phone is out of battery, or is damaged there is still a chance to send out an S.O.S. and be saved.
