AppleInsider reports today that Apple must be very keen to finally get that all-important deal with China Mobile inked and set in stone, as according to analyst Brian Marshall of ISI Group, Apple will see major growth in China when it finally teams up with China Mobile, despite an overall slowdown in China. Marshall, who was speaking at an ISI Group China Mini Seminar today in New York City, went on to say that Apple sales will most likely be protected from the slowdown in China thanks to “brand affinity, increasing distribution, minimal competition and a large runway for greater penetration.” AppleInsider notes that although Apple currently only has 15% of the smartphone market in China, this is because it is still only partnered with China Unicom and China Telecom. Finally signing that deal with China Mobile will change all that, as China Mobile has around two-thirds of Chinese wireless subscribers. Marshall goes as far as to say that when Apple partners up with China Mobile, it could mean that iPhone sales double in the territory.
