MacStories reports today on code strings that 9to5 Mac has found in the first iOS 5 beta that seem to indicate that iOS 5 will also include a panoramic camera setting. Apple has already announced that iOS 5 will have several new photo editing features, such as being able to crop, rotate and auto-enhance images in the Photos app. Unfortunately for iPhone 3GS owners, these new features are only compatible with iPhone 4 however. Now, with the discovery of the code strings, it seems there is at least the hint of a prospect of a panoramic setting, with the option to “Take Panorama” and “Saving Panorama”. As MacStories notes, such strings are often a good indication of what is to come in the iOS in question, with previous examples of code in iOS 4.3 referencing Photo Booth effects, that did eventually appear in the iPad 2 with the new Photo Booth app.
