Apple introduces the option of setting your own alarm song
Unlike other smartphones that allow users to upload their own audio files and use them as ringtones, Apple has fallen a little behind in this sector. Users complained on various forums begging for the Cupertino company to introduces this feature. Basically the complaints are that Apple standard ring tones are not varied enough. Now there is good news for music addicts, as Apple seems to have finally heard your plea.
In the upcoming iOS 6, users are granted the opportunity to finally choose their favorite tune and use it as an alarm. In order to access the feat interested parties will have to go under the Sound menu in order to set their new alarm or just to edit one that’s already stored in their iDevice. After the official launch of the new operating system, users will be able to go to their iTunes playlist and pick the song they want to set as alarm from it.
The iOS 6 has been eagerly expected by devs and the mass population alike and is expected to bring 200 new interesting and engaging features. Apple’s senior vice president of iOS Software, Scott Forstall, commented on the topic at the WWDC 2012:
“We can’t wait for hundreds of millions of iOS users to experience the incredible new features in iOS 6 including the new Maps app, expanded Siri support, deep Facebook integration, Shared Photo Streams and the innovative new Passbook app.”
The new operating system will be compatible with the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, the new iPad, the old iPad and the iPod touch.
