bit off help with 3g iphone unlocking

i have had a iphone 3g for a few months but can not use it as the baseband is version 4.2.1 but firmware 5.15.04 can i unlock this now as i could not unlock unlesss i went to the ipad bace band 6.15 i do not want to do this as i need to be able to use tomtom and need working gps

Best bet is ring your network depending on there policy they might charge but they send your imei number to apple and will unlock your phone permanent software unlock is ok but if you upgrade firmware by accident it's lost again.

sorry i am not the original owner bought it as i was going to unlock but did not when found out it mucks up the gps and unlocking through network costs £20 and if i can unlock for free will use it for a few months untill my own phone is up for upgrade
