I am trying to downgrade a friends iPhone 4 from 5.0 to 4.3.5. I ran redsnow and tinyumbrella and have the ipsw for 4.3.5
Tinyumbrella even shows that the SHSH is saved for 4.3.5
Now when every I try to restore it with iTunes, I select the 4.3.5...ensure that the tinyumbrella has TSS servers on and is accepting connections (under the log tab)
I go to DFU mode and try to downgrade from iTunes, but I keep getting the error code [1]
I have been getting it all day. and now the phone won't even boot into the OS.just the 'connect to iTunes' recovery screen.
What can I be doing wrong?
I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.
after you get error 1 and you are stuck on the connect to iTunes screen, open up redsn0w and run fix recovery. it will fix your iPhone. dfu mode is entered by holding home and sleep for 10 second then release sleep button while still holding home button. if you do it right the phone will be detected by redsn0w.
