    Major iphone 3g problem

Hi im new to the site and basically im having some real problems with my phone which i have no idea how to resolve.

I bought a second hand iphone 3g off a friend, the phone works fine and i have used it and everything worked great except the glass pannel was cracked, so i bought a complete front unit off ebay (top rated seller) and what happend was: i plugged connections 1 and 2 in and forgot about connection 3 and the screen came on saying i needed to charge the phone, the screen then went white so i took the the screen back out diss-connected and reconnected the cables including cable 3. Now the phone wont power on atall, ive tryed all the reset methods and nothing is working, if i plug it into my computor it still wont do anything, but if i unplug all the screen and leave it off then connect it to my computor, the computor will recognize the phone as an iphone but as a camera aswell.

I really have no idea what to try so any advice would be great.

    Thanks.
