Iphone4 stopped working

This just happened tonight with my 4s. It has iOS 5 and a ton of apps on it that took me soooo much time to finally get right. Not to mention all my important appointments, reminders, lists, and notes. I am currently following your instructions and mercifully, it seems to be working. Thank goodness for people like you and forums like this. I was just getting into bed when it happened, but had to get up and do this because it would have haunted me all night! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

did you do a restore? if you have a backup just do a restore to a backup and your files will all be there as long as you have them on the computer and backed up

Same thing just happened to me today. I was in the middle of a text and the screen just slowly faded to black and that was that. The phone won't reboot and isn't recognized in itunes. I called apple. They're sending me a new phone. This one is less than a month old.
