    I use it to get internet from iPhone to iPad when no wifi is available.
    Can you elaborate on what specifically gets reset when you do this?

    No such thing. Your iPhone has 4 buttons... Home, Lock, Volume Up & Volume Down. And of course the Mute Switch above the Volume Buttons.

    If you are jailbroken you can look for multicleaner and configure anything thru the activator to do what you want.
