Voice calling using 3g

Hi, I am currently considering to get an iphone 4 but only if it could be used for voice calling using 3g such as skype or fring. Must I jailbreak the phone to do this or these apps works fine for voice calling using 3g? If not, any other apps that could do this? Thanks

really? I havnt tried that yet. So video works with Skype app from apple store on wifi AND 3g???

lol... It doesn't do video yet. But the audio works great. I think skype is hesitant to release a video version just because it would be so slow/fuzzy like fring.

thx guys being able to call using 3g would be awesome!!
however, i tried using my friends' iphone to call on 3g, its only dialing n forever dialing, without connecting

I am not very familiar with skype, can I make a call from using the skype app to a cellular for no charge? Or it only free if you make calls to a PC only?

Only skype to skype is free so if you have someone using the skype app it's free. Also has some really good rates to other countries.... I think it's like $8/mo if you want unlimited to a certain place.
