Dang! If that is the chip, nice find. But if you take a look at the bottom of it you will see the 4 solder points. Notice they have to connect directly with the motherboard. I doubt your brother has the gear to solder that type of mounting.

And try ifixit for/to get the motherboard.

I just looked... Unfortunately, iFixit.com doesn't carry Logic Boards for the 4S.
