I phone 3GS Charging ??

I hope I,m in the right section for this,,,, I have a Iphone 3GS and sometimes when I plug it in to charge it a the warning sign pops up and says this devise cannot be charged with this assesory (sp) and it is the factory wall charger. ?

I've had this glitch with several accessories known to work. When it happens I simply unplug the 30-pin and retry. Usually that does the trick.

A remedy I saw posted was to clean the contacts with specialist electrical contact cleaner. It has a high alcohol content and evaporates almost immediately. I haven't tried it myself but apparently it works.

Thanks KevinJS, Thats the 3rd time you,ve came back and helped me out with something that may seem simple to most iphone users but I,m new to iphone and get a little concerned when those little things pop up and freaks me out. Thanks Again

i used to get that with my 2g, not so much with my 3g,3gs,4 and 4s. but are you trying to use an official charger or what? also are you jail broken?

Yes it is the original charger and cable and my phone is not jailbroken.

Official chargers do not have this type of problem, lend a charger from some one else and try again. If it works simply change the charger and if the problem stays the same then I think there is some problem with the charging port.

a friend of mine bought a used iphone and received a "offical apple charger" it looks pretty legit! but it was sadly fake and didnt charge an iphone.
