[Q] iPhone on T-Mobile USA?

Hello guys,

I was just wondering: what is the probability of getting an iPhone to work on T-Mobile? Can either (1) an iPhone be unlocked to T-Mobile, preferably the 4S, or (2) is it possible for the next release (in September) hinting any support for T-Mo?

True. Will I need to cut the SIM card to fit or something? Plus, I would only be able to use it on Edge (2G) right?

Yes, you will have to cut the SIM card.

I've got the iPhone 3gs from AT&T. I contacted AT&T and asked for the phone to be unlocked (no charge) and they said OK and would send an email with directions. I would think the iPhone 4 and 4S should be the same procedure.

I got the AT&T email stating it was OK to Restore and Unlock the phone.

I ran Restore and when asked, I inserted the T-Mobile sim card and it does show that T-Mobile is now the service provider. I think you will have to cut the SIM card so be very careful.

It upgraded from IOS 5.0.1 to 5.1 and everything appears to be just fine.
