All notifications... whether it be a call, text, tweet or FB notification... have volume set by the ringer volume setting. At any time while you iDevice is unlocked use the +/- buttons on the side to adjust the volume accordingly.

To add to the above, just make sure "Change with Buttons" is enabled in Settings/Sounds.

I need to make the Facebook tone louder, or change the sound to a louder one, my phone is already on its max volume how do I do this
